Taipei Taoyuan Airport Terminals
Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is the largest and busiest international gateway to Taiwan.
It is a hub for EVA Air, China Airlines, UNI Air, Tigerair Taiwan, Starlux Airlines, Mandarin Airlines, and a focus city for AirAsia X, Cathay Pacific, Scoot and Thai Airways.
Taoyuan Airport Terminals are two:
Terminal 1
Taipei Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1 is home of Concourses A and B.
It used to be the main terminal in Taipei Airport until the completion of Terminal 2.
Both Concourse A and Concourse B are linked by the main building.
Terminal 1 is home of 18 boarding gates.
Terminal 2
Taipei Taoyuan Airport Terminal 2 was opened to reduce the heavy congestion in Terminal 1.
It is home of the South Concourse (Concourse C) and North Concourse (Concourse D).
Terminal 2 hosts 20 boarding gates.
Terminal 3
Taipei Taoyuan Airport Terminal 3 is under construction. It is expected to open its gates by 2025.
Huan Yu VIP Terminal
Huan Yu VIP Terminal, also known as the Taoyuan Business Aviation Centre (TYBAC), was officially opened in mid-October 2011.
The three-story facility has its own terminal and facilities separate from the public terminals.
It provides a multimedia conference room, passenger lounge, private rooms and showers, sauna, spa, gym and business centre facilities.
Other services include ground handling, baggage handling, security, fuelling, customs and flight planning.
Passengers planning to utilize TYBAC must sign up (to the Taiwanese immigration service) 3 days before use.
Inter-terminal transportation
Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected by a free shuttle bus outside and by the Skytrain inside the terminal facilities, which stands for the free transportation passenger mover.
Skytrain
The Skytrain connects Terminal 1 Departures and Arrivals Hall at the first level with its concourses and Terminal 2 Departures Hall and its concourses.
Service hours
From 06:00am to 10:00pm, frequency every 2-4 minutes.
At night, there is call mode, which by doing this, passengers will be able to board Skytrain by pressing a button.
Shuttle bus
On the other hand, the free shuttle bus between terminals connects both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Opening hours
Terminal 1: From 00:30 am to 11:50 pm.
Terminal 2: From 00:35 am to 11:55 pm.
Transfer time between terminals is 10 minutes.
MRT
Additionally, passengers may also transfer between terminals by the MRT, which stands for the train service between Taipei Airport and downtown.
Opening hours
From 05:59 am to 10:55 pm.
Transfer time is about 2 minutes. Frequency is 7 minutes.
