Present & future

There is a project to build a new Terminal Building “Terminal 3” to increase the capacity of Taipei Airport and handle up 45 million passengers (by 2023) and also to build an additional terminal, Terminal 4, whose development has been halted to minimize traveller inconvenience.

Future Expansion

A third terminal is planned and is expected to handle 43 million passengers per year when completed.

Terminal 3 will be located west of the existing Terminal 2, with entertainment, shopping, conference and accommodation facilities.

It is estimated the entire project will be completed by 2023.

The Civil Aeronautics Administration has allocated NT$60 billion (US$1.9 billion) for construction of the new terminal.

A satellite terminal for check-in and additional buildings for auxiliary facilities are planned as well.
