Transportation taoyuan airport - Taipei


Taxi can be found outside the Arrival Halls of both terminals, at the west side. To ensure the safety of passengers, only the taxis approved by the Aviation Police Bureau are permitted to operate in Taoyuan Airport. Taxis are available at Taoyuan Airport 24 hours during all year. A one-way taxi fare between the airport and Taipei will cost at the minimum NT$900 (generally NT$1000–$1200 from the airport). Airport taxis charge according to the meter in addition to a 50% surcharge (highway tolls not included) and provide transport to anywhere in Taiwan. (A typical taxi fare to Taipei is approx. NT$1,100).


In Taipei, don't make the mistake of asking a taxi driver to take you to the Taipei airport (Songshan) if you actually mean Taiwan Taoyuan Airport. The international airport is actually about an hour's drive from Taipei, while Songshan is in downtown Taipei.

The Taoyuan International Airport Access MRT System began service on March 2017. It link both terminals (T1 and T2) to Taipei (Taipei Main Station). An extension to Zhongli district is under construction. Express services allow to travel from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei Station in 35 minutes.


The Taiwan High Speed Rail Taoyuan Station is about 8 km (5 mi) away and is accessible by MRT System. It is easy to get to the High Speed Rail station from the airport. From there, you can catch one of the HSR trains. On the way back, there are check-in counters at the station for China Airlines, EVA Air flights.



Several buses link the airport to Taipei, Taoyuan City, Jhongli, Taichung, Banqiao, Changhua, and THSR's Taoyuan Station. Bus terminals are present at both terminals.


Tickets are sold at bus counters.


To pick up a bus:

- From T1: zone at B1 Arrivals.

- From T2: At the northeast arcade of the 1st floor Arrivals lobby.

Skytrain: transportation between Terminals

Skytrain provides free transportation service between Terminal 1 and 2.

It connects Concurse A to D and Concourse B to C. This service operates in a regular basis 2-4 minutes during peak hours, and 4-8 minutes during off-peak hours.
